    A Study of students emotional quotient (EQ) at the Faculty of Liberal Arts, Rajamangala University of Technology Phranakhon

    Abstract
    This research aimed to study and compare the Emotional Quotient (EQ) of the undergraduate students of the faculty of Liberal Arts, Rajamangala University of Technology Pranakhon. The comparison was done with all aspects of the emotional quotient and also with each category within each aspect of them classifying according to variables determined such as the sex of the students, the divisions of the students and their year of study. The samples were students in all four years and all of divisions of the faculty namely the Hotel Division, the Tourism Division and the English for International Division. The data were collected in academic year 2013 and the research instrument was derived from the Emotional Quotient Evaluation Form of Department of Mental Health, Ministry of Public Health which included three main aspects: the good aspect, the smart aspect and the happy aspect. The data were analyzed with descriptive statistics and One-way ANOVA. The results were as follows: 1. The Emotional Quotient of the whole students was normal in all aspects. 2. The Emotional Quotient of the whole students was normal in each aspect: the good aspect, the smart aspect and the happy aspect. 3. The Emotional Quotient of male students and that of female students were normal, and not significantly different, except the responsibility of female students which was significant at the level of 0.5. 4. The Emotional Quotient of the students from different divisions was normal and not significantly different. 5. The Emotional Quotient of the students who were in different academic year was normal in all aspects. However, the Emotional Quotient of the first year students in self-controlling was higher than the others. It was found that the results of the students from different year were significant at the level of 0.5 but the result in the happy aspect was not significantly different.
