A Study of Tend and Wanted of Upper Secondary and College Students for Further Study in Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon in Bangkok and Peripheral Areas

Abstract

The objective of this research was to study the wanted and affected factors to selection study in the institution of education of students who were upper secondary and college students in Bangkok and peripheral areas; Nakhon Pathom, Nonthaburi, Samut Prakan, Pathum Thani and Samut Sakhon province. General attitude of the students to Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon (RMUTP) was merely considered. The 1,557 samples were collected by random method used for sampling collection according to education areas. The data was analyzed with frequency and percentage by SPSS software. It was found that the questionnaire answerers are women more than men. About 71 % of samples been age between 17-18 year olds and the most samples collected, 45.9%, existed in Bangkok. The students wanted to study into the institution of education were 96.5%. Their objectives as occupation involving study in interested programs and freelance occupation were 92.8 and 61.5%, respectively. The important factors that very influence for student selection into the institution of education were elective courses, reliability and honor of the institution. The result is found that the closure universities were chosen more than other those, however Rajamangala University of Technology (RMUT) that includes 9 universities was merely chosen as 12.7% of total samples. However, there were 25.8% of sample groups that wanted to entry in RMUTP with the reason as close to home, reasonable tuition fee, and high fighting chance etc. Each faculty of RMUTP, the five study programs elected as the first order were accounting, machine engineering, advertising and public relations technology, food science and nutrition, and computer technology, respectively.
